Artist Statement

Pauline Hann D.A. Cert. Ed. Graduated in Printed Textiles and Embroidery from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee and became a Lecturer in Design there at age 23, a career that continued for 30 years. Thereafter, became a Teacher of Art and Design at Glenalmond College, Perth, retiring in 2010.

Founder chairperson of Embryo, Dundee Textile Artists and founder committee person of Edge, textile artists Scotland.

Work has always been very much materials led. As a student, worked for a small couture house and collected bags and bags of gorgeous fabric offcuts, some of which came from Paris and still being used over 50 years later!

Recent work has been based on a trip to India and Edge themed exhibitions. Work is in mixed media, incorporating print, digital manipulation, applique and hand and machine stitch. In 2019, revisited a pulpit fall created for a Perth church.
