Artist Statement

I am a graduate of Glasgow School of Art specialising in Embroidered and Woven Textiles.  Over the years I have developed my love for painting, in particular watercolour, but I find that I am always drawn back to using fibres as a medium. Recent textile pieces reflect my passion for colour and layering of textures using print, hand and machine stitch and collage techniques. Materials and fabrics are sourced and gathered from places and experiences that have influenced and inspired me. I keep a sketch book but also use photography. I am drawn to natural forms but recently I have also been inspired by the architecture and visits to Venice, Mumbai and Ethiopia.
