Artist Statement

I have arrived back to textiles the long way round. Art school sent me down a graphic design path which I suspect influences the pieces I create now.

I’m interested in learning new techniques, but the centre of my work is the origin of the materials and the story they hold. Whether it’s clothing that has been worn by a particular person, objects used or fabric woven in the place I grew up. I like to explore how I connect to the items.
