Artist Statement

I draw almost every day and almost anything, but particularly landscapes, people, animals and very detailed interesting things and I also love research, this of course, adds to the almost infinite possibilities for drawing and detail.

From drawing and detail my interest spreads into textiles and stitch with the needle and thread taking the place of the pen or pencil.

Kantha quilting is a relatively new (to me) process. It fits perfectly with my style and inclination in that it’s very flexible, very fine and gives me beautiful marks. It also allows inclusions which is very much in the spirit of kantha.
I hope to find subjects which I can examine and find a somewhere suitable in time and place to put them and tell their stories. A good appropriate story is very important to me.
