HIghlight
This piece of work has developed from my photographs of the reflected light and patterns on the many skyscraper buildings in New York. I have tried to bring light to my textiles for some time; in this example my goal is to illustrate the interesting reflections and incorporate the shafts of light between the buildings. With a limited colour palette and recurring patterns I have chosen a very minimal representation of a busy bustling environment, aiming to capture a little calm in such a frenetic world. To help achieve this I have included my interpretation of the Scottish sky and combined this with the glazed tall structures. The ever changing light is very particular to Scotland and always an inspiration to me.
