The Well-Dressed Wall
My theme has inspired me for some time and still has more to say. This inspiration once cheered many a day, via my studio window.
Outside my window, an ugly ‘lacy’ concrete wall was host to a beautiful, rampant honeysuckle. A welcome sight and smell during long days in that tiny hut.
Two pieces have previously been created on this theme, a smell quilt and a multi silk layered panel. Now I am taking a different route – working large trials, using various papers, paints and wire, at the design stage, to create a bold abstract for a large wall piece.
Next – choose fabrics, make samples of techniques, stitching and wire sculptures. A completely new view and interpretation.
