Consequences
Consequences draws together a number of images, each of which carry personal significance. These are translated using a variety of techniques into a piece which highlights the current impact of climate change on Africa. Together they paint a picture of the despair haunting much of this part of the world today.
Having lived in Uganda in the early 1970s, I now see that there is a definite influence from this period on my current textile work. Drawing inspiration from extensive travel, my love of geometric shape, colour and texture has emerged in my felting.
Most recently I have been seeking to create a unique style by experimenting with innovative methods, for example combining traditional embroidery techniques with computer-manipulated images.
