I am interested in the effect of human intervention on the land, the influence of political and geographical landscapes and how our environment is shaped by memory.
Recent (and ongoing) work is a response to the conflicts and western involvement in the Middle East and Afghanistan. Research into the history of the inhabitants Edinburgh’s Old Town for Edinburgh’s Hidden Door project in 2014 has led to several pieces of work referencing loss, exile and persecution. Beginning with drawing and mark making my work evolves. It is often sculptural or three dimensional in form preferably incorporating recycled materials and found objects.
