Artist Statement

PROTECTION (physical, spiritual and emotional), remains at the core of my work.

The use of a limited palette of neutral colours is a recognisable quality of the work. Natural materials are predominant; linen, cotton, paper and wood, but not exclusive. I occasionally include wire, plastic, acrylics and wax.

I have always been intrigued by print and text and I am becoming increasingly happy to use paper as a more major element in my work. I am also excited by the digital image, printed onto both paper and fabric.

The interplay of opaque/transparent images is also a developing interest.
