Artist Statement

Recently I have been experimenting with recycled tin foils, using Tyvek, paints, enamel powders, and heat on them. Textiles, beads and metal yarns are also incorporated into my work. This has led to a series of abstract seascapes, inspired by the amazing light in the Outer Hebrides. The sky and sea dominate the views, which constantly change with the weather. I also enjoy using figures in my work, especially if they add a touch of humour to the piece. I have exhibited with the Embroiderers’ Guild and with the New Scottish Embroidery Group, which became SETA and eventually joined with Edge.
