Jenny Smith Open Studio/ Studio Sale     Sat 11 March    11am – 6pm   . Open Studio/ Studio Sale     Sat 11 March    11am – 6pm

Meanwhile…in preparation for my move to Lewis and to celebrate returning to painting, I am having an open studio/studio sale, with lots of pre 2020 artwork/prints at half price, for one day only.

Come and have a browse, say hello and goodbye. Selling earlier work at half price is something I have never done in all my years of practice, but it’s a long way to Lewis and I would like to travel as light as possible. So, whether you have always wanted a piece of my work or would like to add to your collection, this could be the day to pick up a bargain!

If you can’t make it in person and have seen a piece on my website you like, just let me know and I can save it for you or post it out (if unframed). I have a courier who can deliver framed work. If you can’t manage Sat but would like to come in person, let me know, and I may do Sunday afternoon, by appointment.

I am able to take card payments or payments in instalments via direct debit. There is free on street parking on Burns Street.

I look forward to seeing you.    www.jennysmith.org.uk

HOSPITALFIELD.       Study Day: Saturday 18th February – 11am to 3pm.

Cloth

A Study Day: on Costume and Conservation

Saturday 18th February.    11am to 3pm

Speakers:-

Clare Hunter, Kirsty Hassard,  Lisa Mason, The Hospitalfield Collections Care Volunteers

The first event of a year long programme that looks at the impact of Light and Time on our world and the way that we read it.

Exploring the urgency to conserve textiles; from the hours invested in making and stitching to the very current and often changing questions of the conservation and display of items that are materially so fragile.

Inspired by the historic textiles, clothing, and costumes at Hospitalfield which are charged with the stories of this place, our speakers will bring in to focus the layers of value that lie within the centuries of history of cloth. They will use examples of collections held at the V&A as well as recently created collections such as the astonishing 20th century design of Bernat Klein.
