COWAL OPEN STUDIOS
Each year around ten studios are open for four days in early September on the Cowal peninsula. Venues stretch from Portavadie in the south to Cairndow at the head of Loch Fyne in the north.
For one month, September – October the Burgh Hall in Dunoon hosts an exhibition of work from three invited artists working in Scotland; a Textile Artist, a Painter and a Potter (Ceramics). During lock-down restrictions artists worked in ‘hubs’ but this year things are opening up again.
The invitation for me to participate came in early March which gave me a good bit of time to prepare a body of work based on the theme of ‘the Sea’ which suits me just fine, as you can imagine, working as I do so close to the sea in Kirkcudbright
